correspondence chess

-1 for correspondence. Theres always a ton of cheaters and people abandon games regularly. I'm all for an app though!
+1 for correspondance chess.

But we also can simply create a team for the few people who want to play some‚ and someone who doesn't respect the rules without a good reason would simply be excluded.
Three truth, positives and negatives of correspondence chess on network

-Game with a long timeout is sometimes related with a large difference in the elo because some people abandoning the games and their elo at the start of the game is quite different than at the end of the game,
-There is also a group of people who are in a losing position but still dragging the game indefinitely, having at its disposal,
for example-one move for 14 days,
-In correspondence chess game many Players use a computer program, so it is necessary to protect against cheaters
Computer use in correspondence is actually expected.
Under the right circumstances it could be an added feature to already great site!
I think the cheating angle is, in my experience, non-existent.

In my experience, I've never had anyone obviously cheat against me (1500-ish rated player on chess.com), and if they used a computer, there are loads of simple tactics they would have found for themselves or me.

In fact, I'm in a Chess960 tourney now and made a move last night, which appears to be winning at least a piece. No computer user would have allowed this.

If people want to play against a computer, that's fine. But I personally am interested in only playing humans, and that appears to be the case for all of the hundreds of opponents I've played. Why would you *want* to cheat?
Same here johnstewart. Anyway, as much as I would like correspondence on Lichess, I don't think Thibault cares a jolt for it (for Thibault fanboys this is not meant as criticism or insult, lack of interest in CC is hardly a crime). The site is aimed at bullet players so I don't think correspondence will ever get any love. You can't even have a tournament with more than 7 minutes per game (seriously!), so multiple days...

I still come from time to time to check the site but not expecting much change.
Murius, you can set up tournaments with longer time controls now, but you have to check the private tournament checkbox in order to do so.
A very big thank for the correspondence feature!! <3
