Chess marathon tournament

Yeah it's ok, I dealt with it. You can sleep when the tournament ends.
As to the random time controls, removing the increment would help to balance out point values. a strict point per minute ( 1 or 2 points for 1 minute, 5 or 10 points for 5 minute, etc.) would seem appropriate. this would keep RNG from determining the max points possible
@thibault: Actually, when the tournament ends it's 8:00 am for my place, and my classes starts at 7:30 am. So it seems I have no choice but to leave my computer on and bear with the rating loss and wish I remain in top 50 during the half an hour if I do indeed make it that far before I have to head out, I guess. :)
Eh, I didn't see that you implemented it. In fact, your two continuous messages got cut off at a page break, so I only saw your first one and therefore posted the above message. In the case, thanks! :p
@thibault: can you make this a monthly thing? Like have one the first of every month? And once a year make it a 48 hour marathon?
@TheIceManV: Soon on TV on January third: Hundreds of Lichess players dies to exhaustion while competing in online marathon chess tournament. It was noted that a yearly 48 hour marathon tournament has had their participants overworked, and...
#77, you might laugh but that has actually happened:

48 hours would be pushing it. I don't think this should be monthly, it would reduce its impact. Maybe once a season? (spring, summer, autumn, winter) Or semi-annually (twice a year), to really build the hype up.
I agree with hellball, this is not just another tournament, it's an event. I like the seasonal idea.
Maybe on the first day of each season will work. Scrap the 48 hour marathon then. :)
