Women's Chess in Asia: 2023 Year-in-Review

As a player in the 1800-2000 range, I found the games of the Women's section of the World Rapid far more instructive than the Open games. As a mere mortal, I can actually understand why they play their moves without commentary, whereas that's simply not the case for the Open section.

si ASIA esta liderando el ajedrez mundial por ahora
Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm a huge fan of Vaishali, have been following her game for years, ever since her performance in Tata Steel India (R+B) 2021. I'm extremely happy for her, and hope she makes it to 2600 in her own time.

Have seen your handle on Twitter. You do a great job covering Women in Chess! Keep it up!!
Great article! Really nice to see more coverage of women's chess.

I think in the Russian part it would've been important to also note that both the rapid & blitz women's world championships were won by Russians (although the 2 players are from the european side of the country).

And regarding chess in Asia in 2023, another great thing for me personally was seeing Irene Sukandar (from Indonesia) doing more commentary, I didn't know her at all before last year and now I'm a fan of her work :)
