Chess is one of the oldest and famous board game in history. It was originated one thousand five hundred years ago, called Chaturanga, a city in northern India. Chaturanga, a Sanskrit name for a battle formation mentioned in the epic battle 'Mahabharat'. In the 7th century, Chess started flourishing in northern part of India.

Chess is a square board game, made up of 64 squares, with 8 squares in each row and column. Two players can play at a time. Each player in the starting has sixteen pieces, eight pawns, two knights, two rooks, one queen and one king. One of the players has White and other has Black.

The main job is to checkmate the king. Checkmate is the term where players king can not defend or escape.
