Do puzzles bring low improvement only?

Solving puzzles is like practising penalties, free-shots and corners in soccer. It is not bad but it hardly makes you a good soccer player. You have to practice by means of playing/analyzing tons of whole games. The opening, the play before the combi, the conversion; everything glued together with tactics.
doing puzzles will improve in chess,if u go on playing nonstop u won't get anything
Learn from your mistake ( Lichess server analysis )is better than puzzles. Puzzles are important in specific aspects of chess only.
yeah, i was kind of joking when i said puzzles were useless........ but after reading some of these recent comments, such as #12, yeah, i'm not sure how useful puzzles are.... really not sure... they are kind of fun to do. blitz is fun, but it's always seemed blitz is the fastest time control that is useful to get a lot of games and exposure in chess. bullet doesn't seem actually useful, but actually possibly detrimental. it just seems like a different game, basically, different skill set, than regular chess, or even blitz...
