choice of color in rated games

Elo/Glicko calculations do not use colors in their calculation, in spite of the knowledge that white wins more games than black in general. I think these rating systems work so well because on an average over large number of games, each player is expected to play approximately equal number of games with black and with white.

Therefore, I think that when you 'create a game' on lichess, one should not be allowed to choose colors if the game is a rated game. If the game is unrated, of course one can choose colors.

This is merely a suggestion. What do you guys think?
This has been tried in the past. More people complain about not being able to choose than being able to choose.

"Can't win, brah"
I agree with cafestream.

On the other hand, for rated games, I never (nor create) a game with forced colour. That's an option :)
i think also, For a ranked, it should not be the choice for black or white.
I refuse to join games of people searching white-only, but as long as they get people to join their games, they will keep trying =/
On the contrary, I used to make rated games where i play as black.

So maybe remove the option of playing as white and keep the black option?
I tend to offer my services as black, in order to attract those who want to play white. No surprises: I win some, I lose some. And often, the players who enjoyed the game, win or lose, often play a return game with colours reversed.
If a player was to always use white then his rating would be accurate to the way he plays and therefore means nothing that he always chooses same colour. If the player was to sometimes play white and other times mixed then the rating would be no less accurate than when a player plays when they are tired or sped up on coffee.
Now that pools no longer exist, we should have discussion on this again... I think that if a player wants to choose color, let him play unrated games. Rated games should be randomly allocated.
