I am Yves Ranola from the Philippines, an International Master and a Chess coach by profession.
About me
Playing experience
I learned chess when I was 7 years old, but only started playing tournaments when I reached the age of 12. I won the National Junior Chess Championship in 1992,and since then has represented my country and won in several international tournaments in Asia and Europe.
Teaching experience
I have been teaching chess all my life with more than twenty plus years of coaching experience. I worked as chess trainer in ASEAN Chess Academy in Singapore from 2006-2010 focusing on youth development.
Served as Head Coach of the Philippines from 2011-2016.
Presently employed in University as Head coach of Women Varsity Chess Team from 2016- present
Awarded the Title FIDE Trainer certificate in 2007 in Singapore.
Former students include GM John Paul Gomez, IM Paulo Bersamina, both from the Philippines , IM Cyrus Low from Singapore.

Teaching methodology
My teaching methods vary from learner - centered method to interactive and reflective method where in students are frequently asked some questions.
