B02 Alekhine Defense: Scandinavian Variation

en.lichess.org/WCZF5rjK/black#4
I played this blitz game 5mins ago. I just realized that the Alekhine easily transposes into the Scandinavian.

I've played that line 205 times.

I created two pictures to quickly see all my opening stats side by side.

Why is it wrong to reply to play 2.e5 after 1. e4 Nf6 I think that's my first instinct. I believe everyone who has no knowledge of Alekhine Defence (people like me) would play 2. e5...
You can play 2. e5 and push the pawn. But that's not the Scandinavian variation.

Here it is:
1. e4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. exd5 Nxd5 4. Nxd5 Qxd5

and I find that white usually replies: 5. Nf3 and I play 5... Bg4.

Like Shamanics said, I played the main line. Your approach is good. If you know the opening much better than your opponent, you will easily beat much higher rated players than you.

You should prepare good responses to 2. e5 because when the knight attacks the pawn, that's the first thing that comes to mind. By playing e5, your opponent gains space, and gains lead in development by kicking your knight around. Alekhine defence is not suitable to attempt in over the board tournaments against much higher rated players if you do not know it very well.

Alekhine defence is a very good surprise weapon because lots of people play 1. e4 and do not know this defence.

Regarding Caro Kann, it's great that you are an expert in it since I have no clue how to play it as black. I usually trap my bishop, force the knight to a bad square, get a horrible development and lose.
Threw all my games into excel and found it interesting my average number of moves:

classical: 32.189
blitz: 34.329
All games: 29.745*

And my five longest games were:
88
90
92
99
111 moves

* (all 2298 games I've played including FICS blitz)
